Okay, so it's a slight exaggeration. When I emailed our agency yesterday, they said they are waiting on our reference letters. What?! I thought they were all in and being reviewed. So I sent out a slightly panicky email to our references and to the agency and heard back. The problem was solved. Yeah...praise the Lord.
Why Ethiopia? That's the question we've been asked quite a bit. Honestly, I can't say that God dropped a map of Africa on our laps or we heard an audible...GO TO ETHIOPIA. We'd been praying since learning of Gabriel in Guatemala going back to his parents (Again...praise the Lord) and we prayed for guidance to our child or children. I believed that we have a son and a daughter somewhere. It became apparent over time that neither Jim nor I cared where those children may be, just that God leads us to them. I don't know whether we will adopt one child or two children right now. Only God knows that. But as I said in the previous post, we've indicated that we believe we are to either have one boy or a boy and a girl. I rest assured knowing that God knows what we can handle.
Work...what to do about work. Well, I've been praying about this for quite some time, and I come up with a big fat question mark. I'd love to say I rest assured on this one, but typically I rest uneasily instead. I have to surrender this to God each day, sometimes more than once, and trust in His will, His best for our family.
Our house...we've not sold it. Will we stay or will we go? (Do you have song running through your head..."Should I stay or should I go now...") See, you get to learn more and more about the craziness in my head with each posting. All we know is that we are blessed way beyond our wildest dreams and whether we stay or whether we go, we know it will be God's best for us.
Isaiah 55:9 As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.
Random fact that I learned last night: Inspire means breath I've always loved this word! Be inspired! Be breathed upon by God. (Awesome thought, huh?)
Blessings to each of you.
